Content Inquiry

I would like to throw a question out to the crowd (which I expect shall materialize any moment now). What kind of content would be interesting and useful to all of you. There are two different kinds of content that I could offer.

Presently, I am thinking of providing game-focused content such as the state of the current development, new artwork and the Alternative Games series of posts.

Alternatively, I could instead focus on the broader theme of game development and explain my process of design from initial glimmer to final product.

What say yee, oh noble and silent readers? What would be interesting?

Audio content courtesy of The Boom Effect

Just recently, I have participated in an auction for an incredibly good cause known as the Boom Effect.  This consisted of a massive auction of creative works and professional services.  I am pleased to announce that I was able to successfully win two of the auction bids.

We can look forward to a lovely audio promo for Spark, about a minute in length, which should be appearing in the coming months.  The lovely and talented Kimi Alexandre will be providing this promo for your listening pleasure and I am grateful for her assistance.

Along with the promo, we will additionally be gaining an astounding custom-made original music theme written by James Durham, composer and Parsec-award-winning podcaster, whose music has played at venues like the National Cathedral in Washington, DC, to wide acclaim on the radio, in indie-film, video and dance productions.  This will be used for an upcoming podcast, tentatively being given the title of “Digital Fireside Stories”.  Think of a better title?  Leave a comment and let me know!

I am additionally proud to say that I have been able to offer my personal scientific expertise to the lovely Paulette Jaxton.  She donated an impressive total toward Sonic Boom’s trust fund and I am pleased to help her out with future creative efforts.

Gamers help Haiti at Drivethru RPG

Normally I try not to attempt to convince people to make a purchase, but this cause is incredibly worthwhile and of enormous value. While I did not have a game prepared to donate to the cause, I have donated a bit of additional money for MSF and now own $1080 worth of PDF’s.

This is an astounding opportunity both to help suffering people and collect a wide variety of interesting RPG’s. I strongly recommend it if you financial situation permits.

Grand Opening

It is a pleasure to welcome you to our brand new website,, where I hope to win your favour with my writings. To be more precise, I am an indie rpg producer and I would like my games in as many eager hands as possible. It will take a great deal of hard work on my part, but I will be happy to have you along for the ride.

The website is currently operational, although it is still missing a great many features. The final site will be fully bilingual (English and French) and will have a forum attached. These features will be added as time progresses, but my primary focus is on producing the best games humanly possible. If you have any comments, please feel free to leave them here. I welcome your feedback and your suggestions. You can also use the “Contact Us” page to send me messages directly, should you wish.

Thank you for reading and may your stories become legends.

Under Construction

Humanity has fallen in love with stories since its earliest days. Stories give context for our actions and place in the world.  Legends teach lessons and myths provide explanations for the mysteries we are faced with. In recent times, a number of individuals have embraced storytelling as a method of self reflection in addition to the pleasure inherent in the activity. Roleplaying games seem to be one of the most potent ways that we may explore ourselves and have a pleasant evening with friends at the same time. For that reason, I have founded Genesis of Legend Publishing, a small independent press for Roleplaying Games. The games produced are entirely creator-owned and we pride ourselves in a business model which shows respect for the creative works and the customers.

In specific, GLP has been founded with a few goals. We aspire to produce all our works using strictly open-source software, both to showcase the capabilities of the excellent programs as well as to save on overhead costs. We aim to produce the products in the most environmentally responsible fashion possible, from the paper we chose to the shipping of our products. We also have pledged to release as much content into the public domain as feasible, to further the creation of novel works on the foundations of what has already been made.

At this point in time, the crew at GLP consists of an author, a game tester, an editor, a public relations manager and a business owner all in one body. We are located in the fair city of Ottawa, Canada where the only thing stronger than the winter chill is the freshly roasted coffee.

Current Project: Spark

Our flagship project is a game currently going by the working name of Spark.    This system is built with adaptability in mind, functioning like an adaptable framework capable of supporting a very large variety of roleplaying settings.  It does not tie you down to a single setting but is instead designed for the easy of storytellers creating their own custom settings. It’s built so that settings described in fiction, be they ancient fantasy, modern horror or wierd scifi, could be quickly forged and the players could dive into new adventures without memorizing dozens of different systems.

Thus far we are in the early days of production, though our initial alpha playtests have provided some positive responses. More information will follow as the production continues.

This website is under heavy construction, please bear with us and come back later on when we have more offerings for you.
